Sheehey Furlong & Behm P.C. is pleased to announce that Attorney Matthew J. Greer has joined the firm as Of Counsel.
Matt’s practice will focus on civil and criminal litigation, particularly at the appellate level. Before joining the firm, Matt clerked for the Honorable Mark R. Hornak on the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, PA and then for the Honorable Peter W. Hall on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Rutland, VT. Following his clerkships Matt practiced for several years at Williams and Connolly in Washington D.C., one of the country’s most highly regarded trial and appellate litigation firms. During his time at W&C, Matt litigated in the United States Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, and state courts of appeals, as well as in trial courts across the country.
Matt graduated magna cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of International Law and was a member of the Appellate Advocacy Division of the Barristers’ Council. Matt received his B.S. cum laude from the University of Vermont.
“It is our pleasure to welcome Matt to Sheehey and back to his home state of Vermont,” said Sheehey Managing Partner Ian Carleton. “In just a few short weeks Matt has already demonstrated the exceptional litigation skills and judgment one might expect from an attorney with his high caliber background. His sharp legal mind is a tremendous addition to our litigation group as we vigorously represent our clients in the trial courtroom and beyond.”
