We are excited to announce that Sheehey Furlong & Behm P.C. has implemented a new employee volunteering program. We are now offering employees 30 hours of paid time per year to volunteer with a nonprofit organization of their choice. Here are some recent highlights of our staff members’ volunteer work:

Zachary, our Desktop Support Specialist, is a Board of Trustees member for the Gill Odd Fellows Home of Vermont and the Gill Terrace Retirement Apartments in Ludlow. These organizations provide high-quality care for those unable to live alone, offering skilled rehabilitation at the Home and subsidized housing at the two Apartment buildings for qualified seniors and individuals with disabilities. Zachary is passionate about the missions of these organizations and brings his unique perspective to the boards of all three facilities.
Stephanie, a Legal Administrative Assistant, has been dedicating her volunteer hours to assisting the Vermont Afghan Alliance create a rapid response plan that the organization can turn to if/when any member of Vermont’s Afghan community is detained by ICE. This opportunity has helped deepen Stephanie’s interest in law and the legal system, which she is passionate about and wants to continue exploring. Stephanie has previously interned and volunteered with the Vermont Afghan Alliance and is grateful to be able to continue supporting their incredible work.

Grace, a Legal Administrative Assistant, is a native Vermonter who believes in the importance of strong community. Grace has been dedicating some time each week to assisting the BTV Clean Up Crew make Burlington a cleaner, safer city. The group meets at the top of Church Street and walks around the city to pick up trash and sharps waste to make sure Burlington is looking its best for all community members. We are thankful for Grace and all of our other participating employees for contributing to their communities through their volunteer work!
