On Thursday, President Obama nominated Sheehey attorney Eric Miller to fill the position of U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont. Senator Leahy recommended Mr. Miller for the position in February. Mr. Miller has practiced at Sheehey since 1999, and he has been a principal and shareholder of the firm since 2002. His practice covers a broad range of criminal and civil matters in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate levels.
In a press release, Senator Leahy stated:
I have been impressed with Eric’s thoughtfulness, vision and depth of experience. I consulted prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, law enforcement officials and civic leaders throughout Vermont. They were unanimous in their support for Eric, and I was proud to recommend him to the President. I am confident that he will make an excellent United States Attorney for Vermont. I appreciate the White House’s prompt action toward filling this important vacancy and will work hard to ensure a prompt confirmation process.
