Biography:
Francis J. DiMora joined the firm as an associate in November 2024. His practice spans civil and criminal litigation.
Francis began practicing law in Maine, where he clerked for Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and later for Chief Judge Lance E. Walker and former Chief Judge Jon D. Levy of the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Between clerkships, Francis practiced at a leading Maine law firm, where he litigated civil disputes and helped clients navigate financial distress.
Law is Francis’s second career. Before joining the bar, he spent nearly a decade in Washington, D.C. and abroad working on foreign assistance programs funded by international donors including USAID, DFID, and the World Bank. The portfolio he supported varied thematically and geographically; programs that improved public service delivery and strengthened environmental governance in Latin America were his bailiwick.
Francis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Romance Languages and Literatures from Boston College, and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School. During law school, Francis interned for Chief Justice Paul L. Reiber of the Vermont Supreme Court and Judge Peter W. Hall of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Francis and his wife, Emily, live in Calais, where you’ll find them hiking or cross-country skiing with their dog, Sal.
