Biography:
Alex joined the firm in September 2018 and is a principal of the firm. Alex regularly represents corporate and individual clients in complex civil and criminal matters in state and federal court, with particular focus on medical and legal malpractice litigation; breach of contract; tort; consumer protection and consumer fraud; and serious felonies. She is both a trial and appellate litigator.
Prior to joining the firm, Alex served as a judicial law clerk for District Judge Dee V. Benson and Magistrate Judge Paul M. Warner in the United States District Court for the District of Utah. She also clerked for Judge Peter W. Hall in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Alex graduated first in her class and Order of the Coif from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Alex is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for her work in Commercial Litigation, as well as White Collar and General Practice Criminal Defense. Additionally, since 2021, she has been named in the New England Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for her work in General Litigation.
Experience:
- Trial counsel in obtaining defense verdict for hospital and obstetrics group accused of improper care of paraplegic patient resulting in infant death.
- Co-counsel in obtaining dismissal of all charges against client charged with life-eligible felonies related to an alleged assault and kidnapping.
- Co-counsel in successful appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit related to Medicare coverage for device necessary for diabetes management.
- Regularly represents physicians, nurses and other medical professionals in connection with malpractice actions and before professional conduct and licensing boards.
- Regularly represents corporations in complex commercial disputes.
